For dishonoring the court summons to appear for trial in the matter involving his assault and threat of violence on the Western Regional Secretary for the New Patriotic Party, Charles Bissue, the accused, Timothy Gariba, a renowned serial caller of the NPP in the Tarkwa Nsuaem Constituency, might find himself behind bars.
A Takoradi Circuit Court A’ had issued a bench warrant for the arrest of Mr. Gariba for his disobedience to the court. His Honour Michael Ampadu who presided over the case today, remarked that the accused had disregarded the subpoena served on him on three consecutive times; a conduct he finds disrespectful of his office and the law.
The accused per reports in the 2020 elections made some disparaging comments about MR. Bissue, to an extent that he threatened to get the complainant assaulted if he ever sets foot in the constituency.
His reason based on some allegations was that Mr. Bissue and some group of party executives were sponsoring one independent candidate, Joy Joycelyn Andoh to unseat the incumbent, Mireku Duker
