Accra: IUCG Holds 17th Congregation



The Islamic University College-Ghana has held a congregation ceremony for students of the college who have completed their respective programmes of study in 2021 under the theme, DELIVERING QUALITYED. A total number of 216 students made up of 107 males and 109 Females who have taken courses in Religious Studies, Business Administration and Communication have graduated.



In a brief remark, the Vice President in charge of Academic Affairs , Dr. Gamel Nasser Adam highlighted some challenges faced out of the novel Coronavirus and how the Islamic University College handled them.  “ The pandemic induced lockdown and the impositions  of other safety protocols compelled Universities to resort to online teaching and learning.“

He added that despite ICUG’’s efforts to ensure equitable access to the digital platforms for teaching and learning, poorer students were nevertheless put at a higher disadvantage.  



Dr. Gamel Nasser however congratulated the members of the 2020 graduating class for their hard work and achievements in the shadow of a pandemic which has exacted a heavy toll on the health and socio-economic life of the country and the entire world.

At the ceremony, Fatimatu Ali Chief emerged as the overall best student, Murtada Mahmud also graduated as the best graduating student in Communication Studies, with Mariama Jawara as the best graduating international student.

The Islamic University College, Ghana is one of the private universities in Ghana. It is located at East Legon in the Greater Accra Region. It was established in 2000 under the sponsorship of the Ahlul Bait Foundation of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
