Angry Nkroful residents demand withdrawal of Anti-Kwame Nkrumah History Book

The entire community of Nkroful, the home town of Ghana’s first President Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah in the Western Region of Ghana has gone red to demand an immediate withdrawal of some history books in the country.
The protest is led by the youth groups, the Nvavile family of Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, the chiefs and people of Nzema, and many others.
In a press conference held on Monday, April 5, 2021, the angry residents indicated that the personality of Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah and the image of Nzema’s have been denigrated through the publication of a book titled ‘Golden History of Ghana’ for Basic 6 pupils.
According to them, the aim of the author and publishers of the book only seek to distort world history, mislead the future generation and create a disunited Ghana.

On page thirty-six (36) of the book preview to the media, the author indicated that “The Convention People’s Party (CPP) wasted the resources of Ghana to support some African countries to get independence. For example, it is said that the CPP government gave 10 million Euros to Guinea to fight for the independence from France”. It noted.
The book further suggests that the Kwame Nkrumah-led CPP disrespected traditional authorities.
“The CPP did not respect traditional institutions and this made some chiefs break away from the Party”. The book added.

Nana Mireku Tumi I, The Eziama Development Association President indicated that the assertion of the publisher is false. According to him, assisting other African countries cannot be described as waste.”This is perhaps one of the funniest jokes that could be told of Africa. For if the extension of financial, strategic and bilateral assistance to African countries to gain their independence was waste of resources, Then our various leaders in Africa will not meet almost every year to think about Africa Development”. He noted.

He added that the author lack facts to land on a falsehood that Kwame Nkrumah had no respect for traditional authorities.
The group is demanding immediate Withdrawal of all the books from the market.
They are also calling on the Ghana Education Service to call the author of the book to order.
