No end-of-term exams for basic schools – GES

According to the directives of the Ghana Education Service, there will be end of term exams for the basic school level this academic year.

The GES terms the reopening of schools from Kindergarten to JHS 2021 academic year as a “recovery year” for the students prior to the stay home policy due to the covid-19 pandemic.

The Service directed in a circular to regional directors of education “Head teachers and teachers are to use class exercises and class tests to assess students/pupils,”

“Management further wishes to inform all District Directors and School Heads that the existing arrangement for stationery use at the District Offices, which is to be deducted from the schools’ capitation grant allocation remains in force,” Deputy Director General Dr Kwabena Bempah Tandoh said.
