Wassa East DCE Calls On Media Houses In Western Region To Come Together To Promote Tourism

The Wassa-East District Chief Executive, Mr. Wilson Arthur explained that before tourism in the Western Region will be highly recognised in the country and the world at large, the media houses in the region must come together to promote the course.

Speaking in an interview monitored by Ghanaprex, he made it known the Western Region has a lot of tourist attractions that should be branded in a way which will attract investors to invest and develop it.

He added that, one of the biggest invents in the Western Region, the West Side Carnival which is organised during festive seasons in Takoradi became a success due to the support and investments from Skyy Media Group and other companies in the region.

Due to this development, he will urge all the media houses in the region to come together, plan ahead and fast track tourism to promote the region to the highest level. He indicated that division in the media houses in the region is hindering the progress of tourism due to the fact that every media house is trying to organise its own events during festive seasons.

He said “If we can all come together, plan and agree on how we can participate to promote the region through tourism, arts and culture, there is so much we can do together and success will not be far from us”

“We need to come together, leverage and know the positions of each media house in the course to promote tourism in the Western Region, if not, we will not be successful.” He added.
