Former President John Mahama’s recent controversial statement has gotten Ghanaians sharing diverse opinions in relation to its interpretation and how bad it can affect the country.
Mr Mahama during his ‘Thank You tour’ in an interview at Akina FM, a Techiman based radio station revealed the NDC won the 2020 Presidential elections but were robbed in the process and it is going to be a ‘Do or die’ affair at the next elections.
He said, “The 2020 elections were rigged for the NPP. We have however accepted the ruling of the Supreme Court for the sake of peace. However, come 2024, the NDC will be extra vigilant at the polling stations because that is where the elections are won.”
“So at the polling station [in the next election], it will be do or die. I am not saying all die be die. I’m saying it will be do or die because the right thing must be done,”
The Western Regional NPP Communications Director speaking on Skyy Power 93.5FM on Thursday, September 9, explained that Mr Mahama is calling for war in the country if he does not win the elections and it is surprising that a former President can stoop so low to preach war just to win the power of the people.
He also stated that there are men in the country who are ready to fight against any violence and if that is what Mr Mahama wishes for, they will meet him boot for boot.
He said, ” Somebody who is desperate to win power at all cost is preaching war and this should tell you the kind of person Mr Mahama is.”
“Let me sound this warning to them, they will come and meet us at the polling station, it is like attacking somebody in his house, do you know the weapon he has at home?”
