President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo has hinted at the construction of a new regional hospital in the Western Region at Apemanim.
Speaking on Skyy Power 93.5FM, he made it known under the Agenda 111 initiative, there will be six new hospitals built in the Western Region which a new regional hospital will be constructed at Apemanim, a town few kilometres from Agona Nkwanta.
This is due to the fact that the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital will upgraded to a teaching hospital.
“Effia Nkwanta is no longer going to serve as a regional hospital because it is being upgraded to a teaching hospital, a new regional hospital will be constructed at Apemanim as part of the Agenda 111 initiative to serve the people of the Western Region,” the Presdient revealed.
“I have a special interest in these infrastructures as it will serve the well being of the people and I will make sure it is completed before I leave office,”
According to the President, Amenfi Central, Apowa, Mpohor, Shama and Apemanim will be the location for the new district hospitals whiles the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital will be upgraded to a teaching hospital totalling six projects in the region.
Also, he indicated the contractors for the project will soon be in the region to commence the project and will be completed in no time to improve health care and easy access in the region.
The President talking about road projects in the region revealed that there are 78 active road projects currently going on in the Western Region.
He made mention of the PTC interchange and the construction of the Agona Nkwanta-Tarkwa road which are one of the major projects in the region
