Bakers in Sekondi, a suburb of the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis in the Western Region are crying out over exorbitant prices of ingredients used in making their products in this time of year.
According to them, high prices of ingredients is affecting business severely as they keep losing customers since they will sometimes have to reduce the size and quality of product since inflating the prices is not the best option sometimes.
Even though they keep losing customers due to increase in prices of their product since they do not want to temper with the quality and size, they now find strategic means to increase sales of their products by linking up with international customers who transport their products to countries like Nigeria.
Also, the price of main ingredients for their product being flour and butter has increased inconsiderably within a space of 6 months which has affected business negatively due to the fact that, the income of their customers remains the same due to unchanging minimum wage in the public sector.
However, the will like to plead with the general public to consider their decisions of increasing prices of their product as they are a witness of the current situation in the country
