Christian Atsu’s body will arrive home this evening. A message from Ghana’s Ambassador to Turkey, Francisca Ashietey Oduntun, says a Turkish Airline with the body will depart from Istanbul late afternoon today, February 19, 2023 and arrive at the Kotoka International Airport at 7pm.
Meanwhile, President Akufo-Addo, has on behalf of the government and people of Ghana paid glowing tribute to Christian Atsu.
In a Facebook post, President Akufo-Addo said Ghana football has lost one of its finest personnel and ambassadors, one who will be difficult to replace.
He said the player would be sorely missed and prayed for Atsu’s soul to be reposed. President Akufo-Addo also extended his heartfelt condolences to the widow, children and family of the late footballer.
