Central Region has recorded seven new cases of COVID 19 with patients showing no symptoms at all.
According to the deputy director of health in charge of Public health in Central Region, Dr. Kwabena Sarpong who spoke in an exclusive interview with Osahene Kwame Dapaah on Kingdom Fm 96.9 in Cape Coast on the Morning bell, Cape Coast has recorded 561 suspected cases, with 238 proving negative and 318 samples still pending with 7 recorded cases. This is made up of 3 females and 4 males.
He added that,5 of the confirmed persons have been quarantined in their homes in Cape Coast and KEEA with the other 2 in the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital receiving treatment.
Responding to whether, Cape Coast should have a barrier to test people entering and leaving Cape Coast, he said, the emphasis should rather be on testing rather than lockdown entirely that will cripple bussinesses.
He advised people in Central Region to stop the numerous demonstrations and stigmatization of treated patients insisting that is the only way people will own up for the test else people will coil into their shells and affect others.
Ghana has currently recorded 1042 cases with the Central Region alone recording 7 cases.
