WR: John Mahama Donates PPE’s To Effia-Nkwanta Hospital

Former President of the Republic of Ghana John Mahama has donated Personal Protective Equipments (PPE’s) to the Effia- Nkwanta Hospital in the Western region.

Mr. Mahama made the donation on Tuesday as part of his contribution to the fight against the Coronavirus pandemic.
Already the former President has donated to other hospitals in the country including the Ridge Hospital in Accra and other Frontline workers helping in the fight against the pandemic.

The donation was part of a total of 650 PPE’s and 650 gum boots procured at a cost of twenty thousand dollars ($20,000.00) by John Mahama to be distributed to health facilities Nationwide.

Nana Kojo Toku who is the Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Western region made the donation on behalf of the former President at Sekondi.
Nana Toku on behalf of Mr. John Mahama, thanked the country’s frontline health workers for their dedication, hard work and sacrifice as the nation grapples with the coronavirus.

He urged government to work faster to ensure the urgent supply of the required protective clothing and logistics for the health workers to maintain their confidence as they come into contact with hundreds of people during these tying times.

Dr. Joseph K. Tambil, who received the items on behalf of the Hospital, thanked President Mahama for the support, pledging that the hospital will put them to good use.

Nana Toku was accompanied by other leading members of the NDC which include Joseph Nelson, Regional Secretary of the NDC, Japhet Baidoo, Regional Organizer, and a member of the NDC COVID-19 Team, Dr. Grace Ayensu-Danquah.
