Ghanaian gospel singer, Kesse born Michael Kesse Frimpong has disclosed that there is more love in the secular music fraternity than the gospel music fraternity.
He made this revelation during an interaction with graphic showbiz.
According to the Mentor 4 winner, when he was in the world he was told that there was more love among secular musicians than Gospel musicians but switching to the latter has validated such assertion.
He further indicated that stigmatisation from gospel musicians cannot stop him from serving God.
“When I was in the world, I was told there was more love among secular musicians than Gospel artistes and I am now seeing the truth. There is stigmatisation from Gospel musicians.
“They see you in a certain way and think you are not one of them but that will not stop me from serving God. When I was in the world, my colleagues were supportive and showed true love.
“Some Gospel musicians only think about themselves instead of caring about others. At the end of the day, it all comes down to love because if you love someone, you will not focus on their past.
“I knew this would happen and was even told it will happen but that is not what I am thinking of, I am focused on spreading the Gospel,” Kesse disclosed.
The ‘Oh Yeah’ hitmaker indicated that he is unperturbed by the stigmatisation in the gospel music fraternity adding that what is keeping him is the heart for the work.
“The stigmatisation does not worry me at all. What is keeping me is that I have the heart for the work and I see all these as trying moments. It did not start with this generation so it is normal, it even happened with Jesus and the Pharisees,” He added.
Kesse has released quite a number of gospel tunes since he became born again but the songs have failed to make any impact.
Me Hu Yesu, Sweet Jesus,Ye Hia Wu and Oluwa Dara are some of the gospel songs he has released.
Reacting to why he has not been able to make an impact in the gospel music industry,Kesse said:
“I am not bothered if my Gospel songs don’t make it out there but if I am able to win a soul for God, He will be happy with me. I go to different churches to preach the word of God and I have been able to win a lot of souls for God and that is my main focus. I don’t care whatever anyone thinks or says about me,”
