The Member of Parliament for Sekondi, Andrew Kofi Egyapa Mercer on Sunday, December 18th, 2022 donated $6000 to a 19-year-old hole-in-heart patient that resides in his constituency.
According to the legislature, he had reported a young lady at Ekurase suburb of Sekondi suffering from a hole in her heart and had to pay $9000 to undergo surgery.
He added that the Chief Executive Officer of Menergy Ghana Limited responded to his numerous request to several cooperate bodies for support to the young lady [name withheld] by donating $4000 of which he, the MP added $2000 making $6000 out of the $9000 total cost covering the entire surgery.
The member of parliament for Sekondi made a video call to Kelvin, the CEO of Menergy Ghana Limited to witness the presentation of his donation to the family.
He said, “As we all know not every condition is covered under our health insurance in this country and some are not able to meet the demands when things like this come out so sometimes we need to come out ourselves and do the support out of our limited funds.”
You also heard Mr. Alfred Jackson, the representative of the family that received the donation from the MP, and his friend, the CEO of Menergy Ghana Limited.
