Western Region: Final Year SHS Students Return To School Today


Final year senior high students return to school today per the directives that were given by the President.

In the 10th address the nation by His Excellency, Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo on the measures taken on the COVID 19 pandemic in the country, eased restrictions placed on schools.

In his address, he stated that the reopening of schools is to allow final year students in the tertiary, senior high and junior high schools to return to school to take their final examinations.

The final year senior high together with the second year gold track students were to return to school on the 22nd June,2020.

In the President's 12th address to the nation yesterday, he assured that the government has put in place measures to protect the over 800,000 final year senior high students who would be returning to school.

Senior high schools in the Western region as per the directives by the President, reopen today and final year and second year gold track students were seen trooping into their various schools in respect to the social distancing policy.

Students are seen wearing nose masks as part of the measures put in place by schools to avoid from contracting the virus and the rule is that, students without nose masks would not be allowed to enter into schools.

Veronica buckets are also seen on the premises of schools to aid student in washing of their hands which is part of the measures taken to avoid the contracting of the virus.

Some authorities of the senior high schools in the region said that, as schools reopen today, teachers are supervising the students to clean the schools so they would have clean environment to begin their studies.

Also, teachers will be taking students through the safety protocols as directed by the President to prevent students from contracting the virus as they stay in school to take their final examinations.
