In a commendable act of philanthropy, businessman and media enthusiast Mr Richard Addison has donated personal protective equipment (PPE) to the Ghana Police Service in Takoradi.
The donation, which includes reflective vests and caution tapes, comes in response to a community concern raised via social media regarding the safety of police officers on duty.
The issue was highlighted by a concerned citizen who shared a video documenting police officers at a checkpoint along the Kwesimintsim-Airport Ridge road operating without reflective gear, posing a potential risk of accidents as drivers may not see them in time. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, Mr. Addison took it upon himself to provide these essential safety items.
During the presentation ceremony, senior officers of the Ghana Police Service expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Addison for his thoughtful contribution.
They emphasized the importance of community support for state institutions, particularly the police force, and encouraged others to follow his exemplary lead.
Mr. Addison, while presenting the PPEs, reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the police service and ensuring their safety on the roads.
He promised to continue his efforts in aiding the police force, highlighting the critical role they play in maintaining law and order in society.
