Sekondi constituency Member of Parliament, Lawyer Blay Nyameke Armah, visited the site of the recent fire outbreak at European Town, Sekondi, to assess the level of destruction and offer comfort to the victims.
The legislator took some hours touring the burned scene and talking with the victims barely after the fire.
The fire erupted early on Monday, 8th September 2025, reducing properties to ruins worth hundreds of Ghana cedis.
Firemen from the Ghana Fire Service, with assistance from residents, worked tirelessly for a few hours to extinguish the fire.
During his visit, the MP spoke with the victims and assured them that he would see them return to work.
He pledged to support the victims promptly.
In his social media post, Mr. Nyameke stated, "Today, I visited European Town to console families affected by the recent fire outbreak. During such times, we must be united in times of calamity. My prayers and thoughts are with them all. Help is on the way."
The Sekondi Member of Parliament was flanked by police authorities and National Democratic Congress Party leadership within the constituency.
The reason behind the fire is yet to be established, and an investigation is still underway.
