Hon. Abdul Majeed Dokurgu, the Municipal Chief Executive Officer of the Effia-Kwesimintsim Municipal Assembly, recently demonstrated his strong commitment to community welfare through a heartfelt initiative Mother’s Day, held on Sunday, May 10, 2026.
This program aimed to honor mothers across the municipality by providing free health screenings and distributing essential medications, highlighting his dedication to improving women’s health and well-being.
During his address to the residents of Effia-Kwesimintsim, Hon. Dokurgu reflected on his campaign for the 2024 parliamentary election. Although he was not elected as a Member of Parliament, his subsequent appointment as Municipal Chief Executive has strengthened his resolve to effectively serve the community.
He reiterated his commitment to fulfilling his campaign promises, focusing on three key areas: advancing education, supporting entrepreneurial startups, and assisting elderly mothers. These initiatives aim to promote sustainable development within the municipality.
In addition to public engagements, Hon. Dokurgu adopted a personal and compassionate approach by visiting numerous women in their homes and presented them with essential household items such as refrigerators, cooking utensils, rice cookers, and beverages.
These thoughtful gifts were also provided to beneficiaries of the health screenings and medication distributions, reflecting a comprehensive approach to community upliftment that addresses both health and everyday living needs.
Hon. Dokurgu’s ongoing efforts demonstrate a profound dedication to the people of Effiakuma and the broader municipality.
