The Kristo Asafo Mission and Safo Family have officially announced the passing of their founder and leader, Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo 'Kantanka'.
In a statement signed by Sarah Adwoa Safo, the family disclosed that Apostle Safo passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, 11th September, 2025.
With the deepest regret and deepest sorrow, the Safo Family and the Kristo Asafo Church report the peaceful passing of Ghana's man of God, Ghana's most iconic technologist, philanthropist, agriculturalist, and industrialist," the statement declared.
The family called him "a true genius, a shining star of hope for so many, and father to the fatherless," and concluded that "Ghana has indeed lost a gallant son and a true legend.".
The statement further requested the public to accord the family some privacy during the mourning period.
Funeral and burial arrangements shall be announced in due course.
Romans 14:8, as quoted in the statement, encapsulated the family's eulogy: "For if we live, we live to the Lord and if we die, we die to the Lord."
Born on 26th August 1948 in Bekwai in the Ashanti Region, Apostle Safo was a religious icon and technology pioneer.
He founded the Kantanka Group, which led outstanding innovations in agriculture, electronics, and the automotive industry through Kantanka Automobiles.
He was commonly described as a visionary who merged religion and innovation through which he inspired generations with his sermon of self-sufficiency and faith in African ingenuity.
