Mohammed Kudus Expresses Pride in Spurs Despite Their Defeat to PSG in the Super Cup

Ghanaian midfielder Mohammed Kudus expressed pride in his Tottenham Hotspur teammates despite their loss to European champions Paris Saint Germain in the UEFA Super Cup on Wednesday evening at Stadio Friuli.

The Europa League victors seemed poised to surprise PSG after taking a 2-0 lead but faltered in the closing moments as the French team came back to win the match in penalties.

Micky van de Ven scored first for Spurs in the first half, followed by new captain Cristian Romero, who extended the lead just after halftime.

However, substitutes Lee Kang-in and Goncalo Ramos scored within the last ten minutes of the second half, pushing the match to a penalty shootout where Van de Ven and Mathys Tel missed their chances for Spurs.

"It is disappointing to ultimately lose the game. This serves as a significant lesson to maintain focus throughout the entire 90 minutes, but I'm truly proud of the team for their hard work and energy, as I believe we had control for most of the match; we just need to remain fully concentrated in the final moments. We will take this as a lesson. We have a match on the weekend, and our full attention is on that," he stated following the game.

Kudus excelled during the match, coming very close in the first half with a glancing header that hit the post.

The Ghanaian midfielder was making his first competitive appearance for the club since transferring from West Ham United over the summer.

Kudus is set to make his Premier League debut for Spurs on Saturday against newly promoted Burnley.
