Shortman To Release New Single "Understanding" In Tribute to Highlife Icon Michael Dwamena

Shortman, whose real name is Bright Tetteh, is to release a new single titled "Understanding."

The release comes as tribute to Michael Dwamena, born May 30, 1964, in Sekondi and passed away July 28, 2008, in Texas, USA.

This lively new partnership unites the late highlife legend Michael Dwamena, the composer of such timeless hits as "Ngozi," with Nana Yaa, the daughter of highlife hero Pat Thomas.

With various rhythms and cultural influences scheduled to be combined, "Understanding" is going to have a unique appeal for listeners to music in Ghana and globally.

The release date is kept under wraps, but the Monday, August 25, 2025, social media unveiling caused a stir and was highly awaited.

As a member of hiplife group Sass Squad, Shortman has been instrumental in creating captivating music.

His own successful solo records in the past, such as "Ghetto Jam" and "Unsinkable," have already established him as a force to be contended with in the business. With "Understanding," he wishes to maintain this momentum, conveying his ability via effective beats and solid lyrics.

Michael Dwamena shook the music industry with his 1999 release "Tibidi" on the album 'Mene Wo Beye,' and his "Ngozi" from the "Omo Woti" album remains a crowd favorite. He is also popular for other song titles like "Chaskele" and "Prayer."

With "Understanding" to be released shortly, the fans cannot wait to savor this emotional tribute which is sure to be another of Shortman's chart-topping potential.
